Hi everyone! Happy Easter Monday! Blake and I made it to Burgos …. Which means somehow, somewhere we missed a day on the blog. time seems to flow together when every day is walking, walking and more walking…. But I’ll get you caught up quick.
Yesterday we had a rest day in Burgos after a long walk. I’ll post some photos of our walk – it was actually fairly nondescript and we’ve been really lucky with the weather. It’s been warm and dry lately with no rain and highs in the low 20’s.
We spent our rest day in the beautiful city of Burgos and got a fabulous hotel with a view of the massive gothic cathedral. The Church was stunning, and we were able to do a full tour of the inside on Easter Sunday, which was a special treat.
The scale is absolutely huge – it’s hard to get the entire front into one photograph. The church was first opened in 1221, however has undergone contraction for hundreds of years. The inside was equally beautiful – stained glass and marble work galore. Gary joked that the Vikings sure missed out on this one…. Hes not wrong.
Of course, being Easter Sunday, the town square was busy and packed with excitement. We joined Gary for a afternoon beer, and then a mid afternoon beer, and then and evening wine…. You get the idea. The day was spent watching the spectacle and enjoying the busy Spanish streets.

Not too shabby is right ! The church in Barcelona will be a must to see … the biggest and the best ! However those you have shown us thus far have been spectacular! We hope you see the beauty in it, although quite political . It’s nice you get to stop and smell the roses ( drink beer , have an afternoon beer and enjoy evening wine.) We sure can see you are both getting smaller. good for you ! Love you dearly…Xx Mom
